Ombre

This is right after it was hung up on the drying rack.

1 hour later

After it was set washed and ironed.
 I have struggled with ombre dying for the last year. I never seem to get it right....try try again. These were beautiful even before they were dyed and I was so worried that I would ruin yet another item with ombre dyeing.
Photographed for the shop and listed.

After they had dried they still didn't look correct. I had mixed another vat of indigo that day that was pretty strong so I repeated the process, this time in the new vat. Let them dry again and was thrilled with the surprise.

I would have kept them for myself but the DH is hitting the limit on the amount of stuff I am keeping. LOL Our home is like a commercial fabric store, I just need a sign on the front of our property!
I usually don't realize things have not turned out until they are on the ironing board, my happiness was so joyful that I realized they needed done again while still on the drying rack!

Sand Dollar

 I love the ocean and the peacefulness it gives. My dad made these stencils for me and I love them! Depending on how I situate them they look like sand dollars or oranges. I need to branch out and do some different colors.

Mom and I

 My mom came to visit for a week and a half. We convinced her to stay because of a science program my husband and I do at the school. Thank goodness because we got 2 awesome days of Indigo dyeing in.  I should post about the science program, I love the idea of art and science together but am still trying to mesh the two into a program for K-5th.

This was the beginning----->

Boom! Looks like barbed wire!
